Under 14/15/17 Midweek Pathway
Hong Kong Football Club is dedicated to developing youth soccer through our Junior Soccer Programme and the youth team squads run by the Soccer Section for Under 14, 15 and 17 age groups, known as the Midweek Pathway.
The aim of our squads in these age groups is to produce technically competent players who will be able to compete at a high level. Teams are entered in the Hong Kong Junior League, and as a leading member club, all competitions organised by the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA).
We aim to select squads of between 30 to 35 players but for HKFA competitions, where registrations are limited by HKFA rules, some players in the squad may not compete in these Cup & League matches. However, we will also be arranging friendlies and playing in tournaments throughout the season in which all squad members will be able to play.
Trials
Trials Sessions normally commence after the summer break. After the last trial, the final squad will be decided then training sessions will continue for the final squad players.
Training
Training sessions are normally two or three times a week, including midweek (late afternoon) and/or Saturday morning. We would expect all players to attend on average at least two sessions every week. Professional coaches will be running the training sessions assisted by a number of the English FA level 1 equivalent and level 2 qualified coaches from Junior Soccer.
Eligibility and Registration
To be eligible to play for these teams in the 2011/12 season, players must have been born in 1998 (U14), 1997 (U15), 1995/6 (U17). The squad is selective, based upon current and/or potential ability.
There is a one off registration fee of HK$2,000 (Club member) or HK$2,750 (non-member and coaches’ child) per player selected for the squad, which contributes to team kit, training kit, coaches, equipment and transport.
In order to apply for a trial you should complete the online application for registration process available on this site. Once you have completed this process your registration will not be confirmed nor will you be charged the registration fee until you have successfully undertaken the trial and been selected for the appropriate squad. Invitation to the trial will be sent to the email(s) provided in the registration application process.
Non-member players selected may use the football pitch and changing rooms ONLY when training or matches are scheduled. Non-member players are NOT allowed to use the general facilities of the club at ANY time, unless they are a guest of a member.
