HKFC Junior Soccer -
it's about fun and enjoyment while learning and developing soccer skills
The Junior Soccer Programme of the Soccer Section at Hong Kong Football Club aims to provide players with a fun and enjoyable experience while learning and improving skills in the game of Soccer. At the same time we provide the opportunity for players to take part in competitive soccer games in order to realise their full potential.
Participation in Junior Soccer at Hong Kong Football Club is open to children, boys and girls, of Hong Kong Football Club Members and non-Members and is organised in academic year groups, from Year (Primary) 1 through to Year 9 plus Under 15s/17s. All participants must complete the Club's registration procedure and pay the required registration fee.
Junior Soccer coaching sessions are mainly held on Saturday mornings from September to May (at other times for older age groups) with an average of 480 players and 110 qualified coaches registered each year. The Junior Soccer coaches, often parents of the players, give their time freely and, in addition to coaching, also undertake the organisation and administration that is required, with the support of an administrative secretary.
There are also weekly coaching sessions for the coaches to improve their skills and we are always on the look out for new volunteers, the only qualification being enthusiasm and a willingness to undertake the English FA Level 1 equivalent Coaching Course and qualification organised and paid for by the Programme.
The Junior Soccer programme also oversees the running and management of a soccer programme for special needs players. Known as the HKFC Crusaders, the programme, involves weekly coaching sessions and some competitive matches. Please click to the HKFC Crusaders page for more information about participating or volunteer coaching.
