English FA Equivalent Qualifications for Coaches
All volunteer coaches are required to undertake the three-day FA level 1 equivalent coaching course, paid for and provided by the Junior Soccer programme.
Dates for the 2011 Coaching for Coaches Courses are yet to be confirmed. Please check back later.
Coaching sessions for HKFC Junior Soccer volunteer coaches take place during the season, between 8.30pm and 10pm on Mondays at the HKFC Astro (Hockey) pitch. These sessions allow coaches to practice their coaching skills, learn new coaching activities and techniques, and participate in a friendly game. In addition 6-a-side matches take place between age group coaches to add a little friendly competition to the sessions. All volunteer coaches are welcome to attend and any enquiries regarding the sessions should be sent to James Penny. HKFC Mini Soccer coaches also play occasional matches against HKFC Social teams.
The HKFC Junior Soccer programme strives for the highest standards of coaching to ensure that all players, at whatever level, can learn and develop skills in the game of soccer, within a positive, encouraging and enjoyable environment. Although all of our coaches are unpaid volunteers, the programme provides the opportunity for coaches to become qualified through an English FA equivalent course. Indeed, all volunteer coaches are required to successfully complete the Level 1 English FA equivalent qualification. These courses are run by professionally qualified soccer coaches the UK, over a three-day period at the HKFC at least once every year. In addition Level 2 courses, which involve a six-day course plus follow-up coaching experience, are available for HKFC Junior Soccer coaches who wish to develop further their coaching expertise.
